Summary: Not bad
Comment: I bought this after having only heard one song. It wasn't as good as I had hoped but it rocks pretty hard.

Summary: Incredible.
Comment: I was never a fan of music that had screaming and for the longest time I though BFMV was just another screaming band. I can remember the first time I heard "Tears Don't Fall" and thinking, "Omigosh this is the greatest song ever!" Then I remember hearing "Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow" and thought, "No... THIS is the greatest song ever!" Then again with "4 Words (To Choke Upon)." Let's just get right to the point here... BFMV is INCREDIBLE! There are like 3 songs that I will not listen to on "The Poison," but the majority of them are amazing. The music is perfect. The screaming is perfect. The lyrics are perfect. But I think the main reason why BFMV receives positive attention is the crispness and clarity of all of their songs. Every note, every riff, everything is organized perfectly and each song flows beautifully. Even if you're not a huge fan of screaming music, BFMV is different. Their songs have meaning and it's hard to deny that these guys from Wales have serious raw talent and "The Poison" is dripping with said talent. I only started listening to BFMV about six months ago, but it's easy to say that they are my favorite band. "Scream Aim Fire," their second studio album, however, does not keep the bar set high for BFMV. I feel that whenever I listen to "Scream Aim Fire" the crispness that I love so much in "The Poison" just isn't there. It's as though they spent way less time producing their second album than their first. I recommend that EVERYONE (doesn't matter what age you are or your musical tastes) rushes out and buys this album. It's flawless. Five stars.

Standout Tracks:
Her Voice Resides 10/10
4 Words (To Choke Upon) 10/10
Tears Don't Fall 10/10
Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow 10/10
Hit the Floor 9/10
All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me) 7/10
Room 409 9/10
The Poison 7/10
Cries in Vain 10/10
My Fist, Your Mouth, Her Scars (Bonus Track) 10/10

I also highly recommend several songs from BFMV's self-titled LP. Either buy the album or simply download these couple songs. They really are worth it.

Turn to Despair (possibly one of their best songs ever) 10/10
Hand of Blood 10/10
Just Another Star 9/10

Summary: Better than whats being played now a days....Musically Gifted
Comment: This group is truly gifted and knows how to lay down riffs and melodies. I play guitar and can pretty much relate to a lot of the stuff they play. Its a great album and definitely worth the buy. This album is between metal and mainstream. The hardcore metal fans will most likely be disappointed do to the fact theres no one yelling and barking through out the whole track as to where you cant understand what he's trying to say. This album is what metal should be in terms of singing....incoherent garble just doesn't do a song justice.

Summary: BFMV-Do I Like them!
Comment: I've only just become familiar with BFMV but I have to say there AWESOME!! The screaming is just the right dose for me...The Taste of Chaos tour is coming here soon and I can't wait to see them LIVE!! I can't say anything bad about this CD except that the volume in my car can only go so high...My neighbors too can appreciate the good stuff (SOAD is playin nonstop at there house) so thats not an issue. I was not disappointed with this CD..Great vocals, lyrics and all around good stuff..Which reminds me I have to have more BULLET!!! Who's with me??

Summary: I actually took time to review this, so obviously its good
Comment: With top 40 sounding like computerized rap/hiphop poppunk that sounds like my injured dog and actual rock bands sounding exactly the same, its refreshing to hear a metal band with some real substance behind them. They aren't obsessed with rebelling against society but at the same time aren't always wailing about a girl who didn't look at them the right way. The emotion is real high but not sterotypical and the music is the best i have heard in a really long time. I got into them about a year ago and just preordered their new album, Scream Aim Fire which will definetly be just as good. If you're looking for some metal with the perfect mix of screaming, singing, and solos then buy this freaking album. Like now.

Editorial Reviews:

The Poison’ is an album rooted in classic British metal, with brutal riffs and colossal, pounding drums all lovingly and respectfully thrown into the mix along with the band’s own blend of powerhouse aggression and youthful anarchy and energy. With ‘The Poison’, Bullet for my Valentine are set to firmly establish themselves as the front runners of UK Metal, and give all the US bands a run for their money.

From the stunning opening introduction track, guest staring classical metal titans Apocalyptica, the million miles an hour heavy as hell ‘Her Voice Resides’, the acoustic metal classic in the making ‘All these things I hate (revolve around me)’, through to the top anthem ‘4 Words (To choke upon)’, this is a debut album to savour in all its epic, metal glory. Working once again with uber producer Colin Richardson (Machine Head, Cradle of Filth), the album successfully manages to capture the blinding raw energy and power of a band with the world at its feet, a band about to explode!

In the last year, Bullet for my Valentine have toured with Atreyu, It Dies Today, Funeral For A Friend, and just finished their headlining "Kerrang Tour" with special guests Hawthorne Heights.
